Problem 1.9 (Dujella, 2026). Formulate a conjecture concerning connections between the existence of $D(n)$-quadruples and representability of the element $n$ as a difference of two squares in an arbitrary commutative ring with unity, which will be in agreement with all known results and examples on that topic.
